The Times of Northwest Indiana reported Porter County Prosecutor Brian Gensel said in court Monday in Valparaiso that investigators weren't able to establish enough evidence linking 46-year-old Sheaurice Major to the killing of 72-year-old Carl Griffith Sr. on Nov. 1, 2012. Porter Superior Judge Roger Bradford granted the dismissal.
Major had been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. She has been ordered released from jail where she was booked Nov. 9, 2012.
Dontaye Singletary of Gary was sentenced in February 2015 to 65 years in prison for Griffith's shooting death. Major had been accused of hiring Singletary to kill Griffith.
