Senior Judge T. Edward Page was recertified as a senior judge on Monday, the same day Judge Cynthia Sue Emkes received initial certification for senior status.
Page, a former magistrate with the Lake County Superior Court, was arrested last October for driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15 percent or more and pleaded guilty to Class C misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Page was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 59 days served and credit for one day in jail. He was also placed on unsupervised probation, and the Indiana Supreme Court issued a public reprimand against him in February.
The court wrote in separate orders that both Emkes and Page met the criteria for senior judgeship. Emkes’ senior status takes effect April 28, the date she is resigning from the Johnson County bench, and both will hold that status through Dec. 31.
