The Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission will begin interviews next week with candidates who have applied to fill an upcoming vacancy in the court’s Family Relations Division.

Interviews with the 10 judicial candidates will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Courtroom 107 of the Allen County courthouse. The court’s JNC began accepting applications in November to fill a vacancy that will open on Feb. 28 when Judge Daniel G. Heath retires after more than 20 years on the bench.

The applicants include:

  • Matthew Skeens
  • Daniel Borgmann
  • Magistrate Judge Daniel Pappas
  • Angela Marshall
  • Magistrate Judge Andrea Trevino
  • Magistrate Judge Michael Douglass
  • Karen Springer
  • Michael McAlexander
  • Magistrate Judge Lori Morgan
  • Magistrate Judge Samuel Keirns

The Judicial Nominating Commission will meet with each candidate for 30 minutes, then send the names of three candidates to Gov. Eric Holcomb, who will choose Heath’s successor.

The interviews are open to the public. The full schedule can be viewed here.

Next week’s interviews in Allen County come as the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee is beginning the process of receiving, reviewing and interviewing applicants for judicial retention for the first time in the county’s history.
