In recognition of this milestone, the foundation will increase its annual Impact Fund Grant to $50,000 in order to fund a project or program that facilitates this mission and reflects the foundation’s goals.
Applications for the Anniversary Impact Fund Grant are now being accepted through April 2. The grant will be awarded in June 2018. The application form and additional information can be found at indybar.org/ibf.
The IBF Impact Fund serves as an important vehicle to facilitate the financial generosity of members of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the local legal community. Through the Impact Fund, the IBF invests substantial funds and association member participation in support of a project presented by a nonprofit organization that seeks to affect a significant positive impact in central Indiana. The grant is awarded annually, typically in the amount of $35,000.
The 2018 $50,000 Anniversary Impact Fund Grant will be awarded to a nonprofit organization that presents an initiative that encourages public education and understanding of the law, provides direct delivery of legal services or assists in ensuring the equal administration of justice. The grant is intended to fund a new venture or significant expansion of an existing service, and the grant must also present an opportunity for Indianapolis Bar Association members to support the initiative through pro bono or community service.
In addition to the Impact Fund, the IBF grants $105,000 to a variety of legal advice and community service programs co-sponsored with the Indianapolis Bar Association. Some of the programs funded include Ask a Lawyer, Legal Line and Free Wills Workshops, as well as educational programming and scholarships.•
