What do you like best about your job? The fact that I get to do something different every day and that I’m always learning something.
What has been the best moment so far in your legal career? Getting to be second chair and examine a witness in a trial only a few months after I started practicing law. It was overwhelming and intimidating but a valuable learning experience.
Why are you a member of DTCI? I think that groups like DTCI are so important because the events that they coordinate (for example the women’s breakfast panel at the DTCI conference) give us an opportunity to take a step back from our day-to-day routines and think about how we can improve ourselves as lawyers, individuals, and professionals.
Unforeseen hurdles of your first year(s) as a lawyer: Definitely learning how to bill my time because that was something that they didn’t teach us at all in law school.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be and why? If I weren’t a lawyer, I would be a journalist or an editor.
What you wish you knew then …: In law school, I wish I had known how different law school was from the actual practice of law.
Fun fact about you: I lived in Japan for a few years when I was younger.•
