A request from the Marion County Small Claims Courts for amending a local rule regarding court reporter services has been approved.

The Indiana Supreme Court found the proposed rule amendment, LR49-AR15-SC-106, complied with the requirements of Indiana Administrative Rule 15. The amendment prescribes a model for court reporter services in Marion County Small Claims Court. In a July 3 order signed by Chief Justice Loretta Rush, the court ordered the local rule be amended.

The amendment is part of Marion County Small Claims Courts’ transition to becoming courts of record. Now, all appeals from these courts will go directly to the Indiana Court of Appeals.
