The Indianapolis Bar Foundation’s Evening Under the Stars Gala & Auction is taking place on September 21, and it’s time to book your babysitter! Busy lawyers always need a night to relax, and there’s no better place than Evening Under the Stars. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the IBF, and the event will be extra special as we celebrate with a “Golden Gala”. Attendees will enjoy a plated dinner, silent and live auctions, a live raffle, special golden anniversary door prizes and even an after party complete with live music and dancing. The event will be held on Friday, September 21 from 6 to 11:30 p.m. at The Crane Bay.
Evening Under the Stars benefits the IBF, whose mission is to advance justice and lead change in Indianapolis through philanthropy, education and service. As part of the evening’s festivities, the foundation will also award its annual Impact Fund grant to the Eviction Avoidance Program of Indiana Legal Services. Each year the IBF gives an Impact Fund grant of $35,000 to a non-profit agency with a program that meets the Foundation’s mission.
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the IBF is pleased to award a $50,000 grant to this project, which seeks to reduce homelessness in Marion County. The project will provide legal representation to pre-identified vulnerable clients in eviction cases, with a special focus on clients who have risk factors for homelessness. The impact of this project will have a profound effect on individuals at risk of eviction in Indianapolis, who often have no help or understanding of their rights in these situations.
So break out your tux, try on your old prom dress, and come ready to party at the Evening Under the Stars on September 21. A fantastic night awaits, filled with good food, plentiful drink, a plethora of auction items (including much-needed vacations) and great company.
