Deborah Cantwell of Greentown faces misdemeanor intimidation and criminal mischief charges.
Authorities say a man told Howard County police on Oct. 13 that he’d found a racist letter attached to a door at his newly purchased home.
The Kokomo Tribune reported that court documents say the note was “racially offensive and threatening in nature” with racial slurs about the neighbor’s black son.
Police said Cantwell acknowledged writing the letter and also toilet-papering the family’s yard, telling investigators she “was trying to vent.”
Court records show Cantwell faces a Nov. 19 initial hearing, but did not list an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
