Interviews for a Lake County Superior Court vacancy have been postponed until further notice due to temperature and wind chill concerns.

Ten applicants were scheduled to be interviewed Thursday for an upcoming vacancy that will occur in February when Judge Diane Kavadias Schneider retires from her position in Superior Court, Civil Division 7. Extremely cold temperatures and wind chill have postponed that interview date, the Indiana Supreme Court informed Tuesday.

The Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission will interview applicants at a rescheduled date in Crown Pointe, to be announced as soon as possible.

Judge Bruce Parent will transfer to Schneider’s position from his post in Civil Division 4, thus leaving a vacancy in Civil Division 4. Individuals who have applied for the Civil Division 4 vacancy, are:

• James L. Clement, Jr.

• Kristen D. Hill

• Kristina Kantar

• Deborah A. Kapitan

• Andrew L. Kraemer

• Magistrate Judge Alice Ann Kuzemka

• Anthony D. Pampalone

• Adam J. Sedia

• Judge Pro Tempore Stephen A. Tyler

• Stacy J. Vasilak

The National Weather Service issued a wind chill warning for Lake and Porter counties through noon CST Thursday, warning of possible wind chill factors as low as 55 degrees below zero.
