Marion Superior courts will be closed Wednesday due to predicted dangerously cold arctic conditions, the courts announced Tuesday.
The closure was made official by order of Marion Circuit Judge Sheryl Lynch. The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a wind chill warning for central Indiana through 1 p.m. EST Thursday, warning of wind chill factors as low as 40 degrees below zero. Such conditions can quickly result in frostbite and hypothermia without proper precautions.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Indiana state and federal courts had announced no weather-related closures, though interviews in Crown Point for a Lake Superior judgeship were postponed.
