Amanda R. German was ordered to show cause on Sept. 7 as to why she shouldn’t be immediately suspended for failing to cooperate with the commission’s investigation of a grievance filed against her.
The order required that German show cause in writing within 10 days of service of the order, which she failed to do.
On Sept. 27, a “Request for Ruling and to Tax Costs” was filed asserting that German had still not cooperated. German also failed to respond to that order, prompting the high court to suspend her from the practice of law in Indiana, effective immediately.
On Tuesday the Indiana Supreme Court ordered German to fulfill the continuing duties of a suspended attorney under Admission and Discipline Rule 23(26).
“Pursuant to Admission and Discipline Rule 23(10.1)(c)(3), this suspension shall continue until the Executive Director of the Disciplinary Commission certifies to the Court that Respondent has cooperated fully with the investigation or until further order of this Court, provided there are no other suspensions then in effect,” Chief Justice Loretta Rush wrote in the Nov. 15 order.
Additionally, German was charged $523.46 payable to the disciplinary commission for the costs of prosecuting this proceeding.
This is German’s second concluded disciplinary action, according to online records.
