Applications are now open for the 2024 Youth Violence Prevention Fellowship, hosted by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
The fellowship is a paid summer experience for Marion County residents ages 15 to 18 to learn about and provide input on solutions to youth violence.
Through the program, fellows have access to Marion County Prosecutor’s Office resources, including the chance to speak with elected officials and community leaders to better understand legislation and activism surrounding the topic.
Fellows will also research, design and share strategies to prevent youth violence.
“The Prosecutor’s Office recognizes the need for young people’s participation and input in crime prevention,” said Prosecutor Ryan Mears. “Now more than ever, the commitment of local youth to share their ideas on how we can proactively reduce youth violence in our city should be fostered and rewarded.”
The fellowship will be held both virtually and in person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from July 9 through 25.
Applications can be found online. Letters of recommendation and applications are due by May 13. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
