A Colorado man was sentenced to 20 years after pleading guilty to production of child pornography following months of pursuing a girl in Lafayette.

Kyle L. Miotke, 22, was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana.

Between October 2021 and June 2022, Miotke produced sexually explicit images of a minor by employing and using them to engage in sexually explicit conduct in order to make the child pornography, according to the attorney’s office.

Fox 59 reported in June 2022 that Miotke was accused of kidnapping a 13-year-old girl from Lafayette, Indiana, after exchanging sexually explicit messages with her for months. Miotke was arrested in Nebraska when police found the two traveling together.

Digital forensics analysts with the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office discovered messages from Miotke saying he was going to travel to Lafayette to see the girl in February 2022 and in the summer.
