Hicks will be one of Indiana’s 10 commercial court judges, which are established in Allen, Floyd, Elkhart, Hamilton, Lake, Madison, Marion, St. Joseph, Vanderburgh and Vigo counties.
Hicks was elected to the Elkhart County bench in 2024. His predecessor, Stephen Bowers, helped start the state’s commercial courts.
Prior to joining the bench, Hicks was a partner at Warrick & Boyn LLP in Elkhart, where he focused his practice on corporate law and litigation.
Hicks earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and joined the bar in 2002.
Indiana’s commercial courts were established nine years ago to increase efficiency and accuracy in resolving commercial litigation.
Cases that fall under certain categories of business disputes can be handled by any of the 10 commercial court judges, who have experience in complex case management and business law.
