The estate of a man who died in a work incident is suing a crane company for negligence in his death.

The estate of Sean Marek filed the lawsuit against Heritage Aggregates LLC, US Aggregates and Muck’s Crane and Contracting LLC, on Tuesday in Marion Superior Court.

According to the lawsuit, Marek was working at a stone quarry in Shelby County when a crane he was working near came into contact with an energized powerline.

At the time, Marek was either touching the crane rigging or in close contact with it when he was electrocuted and died.

His estate is suing Heritage Aggregates and US Aggregates for negligence in failing to keep workers safe when installing equipment at the quarry.

Muck’s Crane and Contracting is also being sued for negligence for failing to ensure a safe work area at the quarry.

The case is April Marek, as Personal Representative of the Estate of Sean Marek v. Muck’s Crane and Contracting, LLC, Heritage Aggregates, LLC, d/b/a US Aggregates, 49D05-2408-CT-035385.
