Gov. Eric Holcomb has appointed Elizabeth A. Bellin to serve as judge in Elkhart Superior Court 4.

Following Holcomb’s judicial appointment to the Elkhart Superior Court bench, the Indiana Supreme Court announced the end of Senior Judge Karen Springer’s stint as judge pro tempore.

Springer filled Judge Gretchen Lund’s vacancy after her appointment to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana bench.

Bellin began her duties on May 18.

Prior to her appointment, Bellin was the juvenile court magistrate where she handled juvenile delinquency, children in need of services and termination of parental rights cases.

She worked in private practice before that at Bellin Law Office LLC.

Bellin earned her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Cortland.

In 2004, she graduated from the Valparaiso University School of Law.
