Gov. Eric Holcomb has announced judicial appointments in Daviess and Wayne counties.
In Daviess County, Dan Murrie has been appointed to the Superior Court, replacing now-retired Judge Dean A. Sobecki. And in Wayne County, Mark Cox has been appointed to replace Superior Court 3 Judge Darrin Dolehanty, who is retiring on Jan. 31.
Murrie currently serves as the Daviess County prosecutor, a role he’s held since 2010. He previously worked as the county’s chief deputy prosecutor.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and his J.D. from the University of Missouri.
Cox is a self-employed attorney in Richmond who previously worked in private practice in Hagerstown. He is also a part-time public defender in Henry County and assists in public defender cases in Wayne, Randolph and Fayette counties.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Both Murrie and Cox will be sworn in as judicial officers on a date to be determined.
