The cases stem from situations in which one delivery driver was killed and another was injured after they exited their trucks while trying to figure out how to navigate and enter Amazon’s fulfillment center in Mt. Comfort.
The arguments will focus on what duty a landowner has to ensure the safety of someone who comes onto their property for business purposes.
The Harvail Singh Dhillon’s family and Marhari Mrach Oukbu filed liability suits against Amazon and the property owner, CF Mount Comfort, alleging they were confused by the signs at Amazon.
The arguments will be heard at 10 a.m. April 10 in Indiana Wesleyan University’s Chapel Auditorium in Marion at 4201 S. Washington Street.
The 40-minute hearing is open to the public. Available seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those interested in attending will be required to enter through door 1 from the east side of the Chapel Auditorium and go through security. Parking for guests is available in lots 23 and 24 to the east of the Chapel Auditorium.
More than 850 students from several local schools already are scheduled to attend.
The argument will be live-streamed and archived on the court’s website.
The cases are Harjit Kaur, Individually, and as the Special Administrator of the Estate of Harvail Singh Dhillon, Deceased v. Amazon Inc., 23A-CT-2059 and Mahari Mrach Oukbu and Nitsihiti Abraham v. Amazon Inc., 24A-CT-254.
