Subscribe NowThe IndyBar is ready to step in to bridge the gap for new graduates with the no-fee Graduate Legal Intern Skills Workshop, which will provide tools 2020 Indiana law school graduates need to get to work.
IndyBar attorney members, in conjunction with the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, will bridge the “knowing-doing gap” often experienced by new practitioners with a core curriculum aimed at developing business and client skills followed by substantive programming in a legal track of the participant’s choice: civil litigation, transactional practice, or criminal practice and procedure. Training will include a practice component incorporating the tell/show/do model, giving the opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge on case studies, sample documents and more. It’ll be a valuable resource for the MPT portion of the Indiana Bar Exam, too.
The workshop takes advantage of the Indiana Supreme Court’s recent order allowing graduates to serve as graduate legal interns until the February 2021 bar examination. IndyBar will be working to help identify supervising attorneys for those completing the workshop and certificates of achievement will be given. There is no cost for the program for 2020 graduates.
