Subscribe NowEach year, the IndyBar offers hundreds of educational programs, social events and opportunities for community involvement, all while introducing new resources and services to serve members of the legal profession. None of these important contributions would be possible without the work of many lawyers, paralegals and law students “behind the scenes” on section and division executive committees.
IndyBar sections and divisions represent the perfect opportunity to cater programming and resources to a specific practice area and/or group of attorneys within the bar. With each section and division governed by its own executive committee, service within a section or division is an even greater chance to meet colleagues, expand knowledge and gain visibility for a law practice.
As 2021 ticks to a close, IndyBar sections and divisions are in the process of evaluating their committee rosters and determining vacancies for 2022. Now is the perfect time to indicate your interest in serving on a committee. While space is limited, every effort will be made to involve anyone expressing interest in some capacity: Additional opportunities for involvement beyond service on the executive committees include planning or speaking at a continuing legal education program, serving on a sub-committee, authoring an article for a section/division webpage and more.
While each group has its own unique programs and initiatives, a general expectation of responsibilities should be attendance at monthly committee meetings and participation in group initiatives. The expected time commitment is two hours per month. Please note: Membership in the IndyBar and the applicable section or division is a requirement for service.
