Are you gearing up for fall? September will be here before you know it, and IndyBar has a fantastic schedule of social and educational events available for you as we ease into cooler temperatures.

Come meet your newest domestic relations Marion County judicial officers and enjoy a delicious lunch at Ruth’s Chris Steak House for our annual Meet the Judicial Officers on August 20th. You’ll have the opportunity to unlock the secrets of successful presentations in domestic relations and juvenile cases from the bench, gain invaluable practice tips, learn best practices in the judges courtroom and get an inside scoop on handling ethical issues between counsel and client.

If you’re looking for a night on the town, get your tickets for the Indianapolis Bar Foundation Gala, Presented by Paganelli Law Group on September 20th! Join us at a new venue this year: The Heirloom at N.K. Hurst in Indianapolis. All proceeds go towards furthering the IndyBar Foundation’s mission. There will be opportunities to connect with friends, enjoy delicious food, sip signature cocktails and mocktails, take immersive photos in the photo booth, dance, and much more!

Learn about the new Guardian ad Litem Guidelines with an online webinar on September 27th. We’ll be discussing a variety of topics, including understanding the proposed guidelines; discussion of what to do if you are a GAL; and when the new rules will be effective. Our speakers are Leslie Dunn, Deputy Director of Children & Families Division of the Indiana Supreme Court, Office of Court Services, and Rae Feller, GAL/CASA State Director of the Children & Families Division of the Indiana Supreme Court, Office of Court Services.

Please also mark your calendars for two events on October 1st: first, join us for the annual Community Empowerment Breakfast. IndyBar Foundation supporters and community leaders will be honored for their contributions, and the breakfast will include recognition of a DEI Champion, Volunteer of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award winner. Then, join us at IndyBar HQ or find us online to join IndyBar’s Day of Giving throughout the day. Day of Giving is more than a 24-hour giving challenge: it’s our chance to come together to demonstrate the important impact that lawyers and legal professionals make in our city every day. Donations help law students reach their career goals, makes crucial legal help available for our neighbors, and strengthens our profession and our community!

Head into Halloween with Trivia Night on October 30th at Indy’s Blind Owl Brewery presented by Johnson Jensen LLP! Gather your colleagues, friends, and family to form an unbeatable team, and then make plans to join us for a night of good-natured competition. Emceed by Adam Christensen, teams of up to five individuals will compete to be crowned the IndyBar Foundation Trivia Night champions.

On behalf of my colleagues who volunteer their time and incredible talents, and the amazing staff at IndyBar, we hope to see you at some of these great events!•
