Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law has entered into an agreement with Indiana State University to create the Indiana State University Law Scholar program, the 14th such partnership for the Indianapolis law school.
As part of the Law Scholar program, Indiana State will nominate two students or alumni for consideration for the program each year. The first students of the partnership will begin their studies at IU McKinney in fall 2024.
“The law school is delighted to expand our Law Scholar’s initiative to include Indiana State University,” IU McKinney Dean Karen Bravo said in a news release. “These collaborations contribute to the fulfillment of our school’s mission of rigorous legal education and service to the legal profession, and to the State of Indiana. We welcome the opportunity to increase access to legal education throughout our state and look forward to welcoming the future ISU Law Scholars.”
The nomination deadline is April 1 of the academic year for which the ISU student is applying, and students must have completed an application to IU McKinney by March 1. The application fee will be waived.
A minimum of a half-tuition scholarship will be awarded, and students are guaranteed an exclusive opportunity to network with attorneys in the local community.

Roberts, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University, said in a news release. “This collaboration creates an accessible pathway for Indiana State University Sycamores to attend law school, achieve their legal career aspirations, and go on to serve as civic leaders in their communities and beyond.”
The law school has now created partnerships with 14 colleges and universities. The others include Indiana University’s five regional campuses, Ball State University, Marian University, Wabash College, Bradley University, Franklin College, the University of Southern Indiana, DePauw University, Albion College, Anderson University, Butler University, University of Indianapolis and Trine University.
