Two senior judges have been recertified for another year of service in Indiana.

Cynthia Amber of Fort Wayne and Carol Jane Orbison of Indianapolis were recertified as senior judges in a Feb. 25 order.

Amber, formerly an Allen Superior Court judge, first took senior judge status Jan. 1, 2020. Orbison retired from the Marion Superior Court on Dec. 31, 2012.

“Upon examination of the request, the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission has concluded that the above-named judicial officers meet the criteria for appointment as Senior Judges under IC 33-27-4-1,” the order signed by Indiana Chief Justice Loretta Rush, chair of the Indiana JNC, reads. “Accordingly, this Commission hereby certifies to the Supreme Court of the State of Indiana that the listed individuals are qualified to be appointed as Senior Judges pursuant to IC 33-23-3-2, until December 31, 2021.”
