The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission announced the certification Friday of four new senior judges in the state.

The commission certified to the Indiana Supreme Court that Stephen Bowers, Michael Lewis, Robert Freese and Michael Reed met the criteria for appointments as senior judges.

According to the court, Bowers, a judge in Elkhart Superior Court 2, requested certification as a senior judge under Indiana Code 33-27-4-1. His appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2025.

Lewis, a judge in Vigo Superior Court 6, was also appointed effective Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, as was Freese, a judge in Hendricks Superior Court 1, and Reed, a judge in Kosciusko Circuit Court.

Chief Justice Loretta Rush, the commission’s chair, signed the certification orders for all four judges.
