Chief Justice Loretta Rush has appointed Justice Derek Molter to replace her on the Marion County Judicial Selection Committee.

The committee was created in 2017 by the Indiana General Assembly. it consists of 14 members with the chief justice as chairperson or whomever they designate as chairperson.

Rush began serving as chairperson of the committee in September 2022.

The newest member from the high court will serve as chairperson of the committee until Mary 14, 2028.

The committee will be conducting public interviews June 11 of eight judges whose terms expire this year.

It will be determining whether the judges should be recommended for retention.
