Gov. Eric Holcomb has appointed a new judge to the Warrick Superior Court following Judge Amy Steinkamp Miskimen’s retirement in May.

Judge Brett M. Roy will succeed Miskimen starting on Aug. 5.

Senior Judge Robert Aylsworth has been serving as judge pro tempore since December 2023, when Miskimen took a leave of absence.

Aylsworth’s last day as judge pro tempore will be on Aug. 4.

According to Roy’s LinkedIn page, he has served as the Chief Deputy Public Defender for Warrick County since June 2021.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and joined the Indiana Bar in 2002.
