In an order signed this month by Chief Justice Loretta Rush, the three new members of the committee are Putnam County Prosecutor Timothy L. Bookwalter, trial attorney Nicholas C. Deets of Hovde Dassow & Deets LLC in Indianapolis and Glenn Johnson, director of research at the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council. The trio will serve from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2027.
Known as the Rules Committee, the group is charged with making recommendations and proposed amendments to ensure the efficiency of the Indiana court system. Proposed amendments are issued for public comment every Jan. 2, April 1, July 1, Oct. 1, and other times as necessary each year.
The new attorneys are replacing Muncie solo practitioner P. Gregory Cross, Wabash County Prosecutor William C. Hartley Jr. and Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nicholas G. Hermann, whose terms expired June 30. The Supreme Court thanked the outgoing members for their service.
Also as part of the order, the Supreme Court reappointed Jennifer H. Culotta, Christine H. Hickey and Delaware Circuit Judge Marianne Vorhees to new terms that will also expire June 30, 2027.
