The following opinions were published after IL’s deadline Friday:

7th Circuit Court of Appeals

United States of America v. Martin Devalois

24-1787

Criminal. Appeal from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, South Bend Division, Judge Damon Leichty. Affirms the district court’s decision denying Martin Davalois’s motion to suppress the gun found during a traffic stop. Finds the traffic stop was not prolonged to conduct a dog sniff. Attorney for appellant: William Stevens. Attorney for appellee: Nathaniel Whalen.

United States of America v. Shamond Jenkins

22-2800

Criminal. Appeal from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, South Bend Division. Judge Jon DeGuilio. Affirms Shammond Jenkins’s conviction and sentence for bank robbery. Finds the jury did not have insufficient evidence to find him guilty and the face mask he had to wear during the trial due to the COVID-19 pandemic did not violate his Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights. Attorney for appellant: Joshua Vincent. Attorney for appellee: Nathaniel Whalen.
