The Indianapolis Bar Association named paralegal Laura E. Adamaitis Thirion as its 2024 Paralegal of the Year, recognizing her outstanding contribution to the legal community.
Adamaitis Thirion, a member of law firm Plunkett Cooney’s Indianapolis offices, was honored at the 2024 IndyBar Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday.
As a paralegal, Adamaitis Thirion offers litigation support in the area of premises liability and assists attorneys with transportation law matters.
She is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the Indiana Paralegal Association, where she served terms as both secretary and president.
Pamela Paige, a partner at Plunkett Cooney, nominated Adamaitis Thirion for the honor.
“She is known for her attitude and desire to always do right by the lawyers she works with, as well as her peers. She is an outstanding member of this legal community and she always says that she owes IndyBar and IPA gratitude as she has made lifelong connections within the legal community,” Paige said at Wednesday’s luncheon. Adamaitis Thirion has been a paralegal for 24 years.
This year’s honor is just that: an honor.
“This is the award I have been aiming for my entire career,” she said.
Adamaitis Thirion said she’s grateful to Paige, the team at Plunkett Cooney and IndyBar for their support.
The Paralegal of the Year award celebrates the work of paralegals in the industry. Those eligible for nomination must be a member of the IndyBar and will have made significant contributions to the legal community.
