The Purdue Global Law School has added a full-time Juris Doctor program to its current part-time program, thanks to a unanimous vote by the State Bar of California’s Committee of Bar Examiners.

The program allows students to graduate in as little as 32 months. The current part-time program track is 48 months.

This is the first time a fully online law school has received approval from California for a full-time program.

Students may begin enrolling in the full-time option beginning September 19. Full-time cohort classes begin in January 2025.

“There may be many people — from recent college graduates to empty nesters and retired civil servants — who can devote themselves to their studies full time, but who want or need the flexibility to study online due to geography, budget or other life circumstances,” said Martin Pritikin, dean and vice president of the Purdue Global Law School. “Allowing an online law school to offer the same program options that campus-based law schools offer furthers the goals of making legal education accessible and affordable, which helps make legal services accessible and affordable as well.”
