Chief Justice Loretta Rush, acting as chair of the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission, approved S. Brent Almon as a senior judge in a Friday order. Almon is the former judge of the Posey Superior Court.
Almon, who notified the justices of his intent to retire from the Posey Superior Court bench in February 2019, was found as qualified for appointment as senior judge after the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission concluded he met the criteria for appointment pursuant to IC 33-23-3-2.
Almon will maintain his senior status beginning June 12, 2020 through December 31, 2021.
Gov. Eric Holcomb appointed former Posey County prosecutor Travis Clowers in March 2019 to succeed Almon on the Posey Superior bench.
