The seven-member JNC, led by Indiana Chief Justice Loretta Rush, selected semifinalists on June 10. The commission has scheduled second-round interviews as follows:
10-10:30 a.m.: Morgan Superior Judge Peter Foley
10:35-11:05 a.m.: Jason Bennett
11:10-11:40 a.m.: Vigo Superior Judge Lakshmi Reddy
11:45-12:15 p.m.: Putnam Circuit Judge Matthew Headley
Break
1:30-2:00 p.m.: Leanna K. Weissmann
2:05-2:35 p.m.: Lisa Reger
2:40-3:10 p.m.: Abraham Navarro
After all interviews have concluded, the JNC will deliberate in a private executive session to consider the applicants’ legal education, writings, reputation in the practice of law, and other pertinent information. A public vote will follow to choose the names of the three most qualified candidates. Gov. Eric Holcomb will then have 60 days from receiving the list to select Indiana’s next appellate judge.
To accommodate press and public viewing, interviews will be livestreamed here. Due to social distancing, there will be very limited in-person seating.
The interviews will take place in the Fuse East Conference Room on the second floor of the South Tower at Capital Center, 251 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis.
First-round interviews with 13 candidates were held remotely via Zoom due to the coronavirus pandemic.
