A South Bend woman faces more than 17 years in federal prison after being sentenced last week for her drug possession-related convictions.

U.S. District Court Judge Cristal Brisco sentenced Jennifer Krueger, 42, to 17.5 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, after Krueger pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Krueger was sentenced in Indiana’s Northern District Court.

According to court documents in the case, in July 2024, law enforcement found Krueger, who had an active state arrest warrant for dealing a narcotic drug, at a hotel in Mishawaka with more than 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine, thousands of fentanyl pills weighing more than 400 grams, and more than $58,000 in cash.

A sentencing memorandum stated that, when investigators arrived, they observed an acquaintance of Krueger’s transporting several items, including a large bag and a locked safe, from a hotel room to a car in the parking lot.

Shortly thereafter, officers encountered Krueger and her acquaintance in the parking lot.

A drug K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in the car, and officers searched the car. They found several drugs in the black bag, including three large bags of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, THC vapes, cartridges, and edibles.

Krueger’s criminal history includes two prior convictions for dealing narcotic drugs.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration including the DEA North Central Laboratory with assistance from the Mishawaka Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
