Tony Patterson made the motion for the three candidates and the commission unanimously agreed.

Gov. Eric Holcomb will make the appointment to the bench.

Once the names of the finalists are officially submitted to Holcomb, he will have 60 days to name Riley’s successor.

The other five candidates who interviewed were:

  • LaPorte Superior Court Judge Jaime M. Oss
  • Anna Mandula
  • A. Elizabeth Underwood
  • Lake Superior Court Judge Gina Jones
  • Senior Judge Wendy Davis

Riley is retiring on Aug. 16 after serving on the state’s second-highest court since 1994, when she was named by then-Gov. Evan Bayh.
