A Vanderburgh County man was sentenced to 110 years for the murder of two men in Evansville in October 2023, the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

John Cameron Parker was sentenced to 55 years for each victim, with sentences to be run consecutively.

Back in June, Parker was found guilty of murdering Michael Blankenship Jr. and Mitchell Greathouse on Oct. 22, 2023.

On the evening of the murders, Parker and two coconspirators drove to the 2600 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue to commit the crime. Video footage, coconspirator testimony, DNA and ballistic evidence were used to convict him.

“With each murder, our community is harmed,” said Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Diana Moers. “Two men lost their lives, and their families will now spend a lifetime suffering because of it. The citizens of Vanderburgh County deserve to live in a community where they do not have to worry about this type of crime. This Defendant will now spend the rest of his life in prison and Vanderburgh County is safer.”
