A central Indiana pediatrician charged with sexually abusing three boys has voluntary surrendered his medical license for 90 days. Attorney General Curtis Hill announced Thursday that his office has reached an agreement for the surrender with attorneys for 41-year-old Dr. Jonathon Cavins of Jamestown.

Judge convicts Indianapolis man of Zionsville slaying

A judge has found an Indianapolis man guilty of murder in the fatal shooting of an 82-year-old central Indiana man in what investigators said was a random act of violence. Boone County Judge Matthew Kincaid convicted 23-year-old Damoine Wilcoxson on Thursday after a two-day bench trial. Wilcoxson is scheduled to be sentenced March 22.

Voters oust trial court judge; Carmichael beats party-switching ex-jurist

Southern Indiana voters rejected one trial court judge and narrowly re-elected another who was challenged by a former colleague who changed parties to run against her. Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Darrell Maurice Auxier, a Democrat, was the lone sitting Indiana trial court judge to lose his bid for re-election, while Clark Circuit Judge Vicki Carmichael retained her bench seat in one of Indiana’s closest countywide trial court races Tuesday.

Boone, Shelby County judges certified as senior judges

The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission has certified two new senior judges to serve in Indiana’s trial courts. Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush, acting as chair of the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission, certified J. Jeffrey Edens and Charles D. O’Connor as senior judges in Boone and Shelby counties, respectively.

Three defendants face federal charges related to killings of two police officers

Three individuals linked to the killings of Boone County Deputy Jacob Pickett and Terre Haute Police Officer Robert Pitts now face federal charges for the illegal purchase and possession of firearms used in those killings. Dawn Rochon, Tiffany Dean Levi Brenton have been charged for their role in illegally purchasing and possessing firearms eventually used to kill Pickett and Pitts earlier this year.

COA remands subrogation claim for fire damages
