People return year after year for Evening Under the Stars, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF)’s hallmark fundraising effort. The event, which takes place this year on Oct. 10, consists of an elegant dinner, silent and live auctions and, of course, a treasure trove of memories for those who attend.
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana works to feed the hungry across the state, and on July 23, Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellows pitched in to help them do just that during the first Fellows service event of 2014. While Gleaners serves 21 counties in central and southeast Indiana, their main food bank is located in Indianapolis, which is where the Fellows worked.
The Indianapolis Bar Foundation announced May 28 that the Joseph Maley Foundation has been named the recipient of the 2014 Impact Fund Grant of $35,000. While many are aware of the good the Indianapolis Bar Foundation does for the Indianapolis legal community, some might not be aware that the IBF has been responsible for awarding more than 75 scholarships to law students since 1983. These scholarships help alleviate the high cost of law school and provide students more affordable access to post-graduate education.
Indiana attorneys who wish to share comments about required pro bono reporting have until April 1 to provide their views.

The IBF truly is your private foundation. By that, I mean the IBF’s annual fundraising goal of over $250,000 is supported almost entirely by attorneys and judges who are members of the IndyBar. With these fundraising efforts, your foundation annually funds the $35,000 Impact Fund grant and supports IndyBar programs and initiatives to the sum of more than $100,000.
