The Indianapolis Bar Foundation will boost its impact in the community in 2021 as it awards $60,000 in grants to both a community partner through its $35,000 Community Empowerment Grant and local attorneys through its Crisis Empowerment Grants, which will total $25,000.

Veteran Indiana Court of Appeals Judge James Kirsch announced Thursday he will retire this fall, capping a quarter-century on the state’s appellate court bench. Kirsch said in a statement he will continue to serve as a senior judge.

What I’ve learned from my leadership of IndyBar in 2020 is that our profession is more prepared and resilient than I could have imagined. Now, as we slowly begin to emerge from the pandemic, we will begin to see the ways in which our profession has changed for the short- and long-term.

It’s the season of giving and even during the hardships of 2020, generous sponsors, bidders and donors helped the Indianapolis Bar Foundation raise over $26,000 during IndyBar’s Giving, this year’s online silent auction to benefit the programs and initiatives of the foundation.
